£20,000 reward for information relating to cycling fatality

Next Thursday it will be three years since Simon Richardson died of catastrophic injuries after crashing into a tree whilst riding his road bike northbound towards Marlow on the A4155 Marlow Road between Swiss Farm and Meadows Farm Studios, Henley-on-Thames.

The incident took place on Easter Sunday 4 April 2021, which was – unseasonably warm and sunny – at 14:25 as a black Toyota Yaris registration number GL07 ZNP driven by David Pratt, Off-street Parking Manager at Buckinghamshire Council, was overtaking.

It is believed that David Pratt clipped Simon with the passenger side wing mirror – causing the loosely stuck on mirror glass to fall out – as David Pratt pulled in too soon to avoid an oncoming car.

When the police arrived at the scene, the wing mirror glass was located in the passenger footwell. David Pratt claimed that the mirror glass had fallen out about a week earlier in Downley and wasn’t in place on 4 April.

David Pratt and his partner, Katrina Fox, allegedly drove from High Wycombe to Stonor Park around 11:45 to go for a five-mile walk before going back via Henley. The incident happened as they were on their way back to High Wycombe.

However, it is possible that they parked in Henley town centre.

The widow of Simon Richardson is offering a reward of £20,000 to any person who provides evidence that leads to the arrest and criminal conviction of David Pratt. This could for example be dashcam or camera footage showing the passenger side wing mirror glass actually being in place on the morning of or the days leading up to the incident or evidence of David Pratt and/ or Katrina Fox perjuring themselves.
